Science Behind Ice Bath Therapy Session
Reduces Inflammation Fast
The cold temperature shrinks blood vessels, quickly flushing out muscle soreness and reducing swelling for better recovery.
Natural Dopamine Boost
Cold shock triggers a massive release of ‘feel-good’ dopamine, immediately improving your mood and focus for hours after.
Resets Nervous System
The cold exposure calms your “fight or flight” response, training your body to manage stress and achieve deep relaxation.
Activates Brown Fat
Cold exposure encourages your body to convert energy-storing fat into heat-producing fat, supporting your overall metabolic health.
Strengthens Immune System
Cold water stimulates your white blood cells and activates the lymphatic system, giving your body a natural health defence boost.
Improves Mental Clarity
The cold shock increases norepinephrine, a hormone that sharpens focus and helps you concentrate on your tasks more effectively.

Frequently Asked Questions
How cold is this ice bath?
We aim for the water to be between 4 to 7 degrees to help boost your immune system and speed up your recovery. We usually run it at 5 degree celsius but we can adjust it lower if you need.
Why do I feel so good after an ice bath?
After you get out, your blood vessels reopen, which sends a rush of nutrient-rich blood to your muscles. This helps flush out metabolic waste, which is why people feel so great and use it for post-workout recovery.
Do ice baths spike dopamine?
Yes! Research shows that submerging your body in cold water can increase your dopamine concentrations, giving you a natural mood boost.
What is the rule for ice baths?
The most important rule is to not exceed 15 minutes, listen to your body. We recommend working up to that time slowly. It also helps to focus on your breathing and even submerge your head right away, as this can reduce your heart rate and potential headaches.
Should I do breathing exercises?
Yes, we highly recommend it! Doing three or more rounds of 30 circular breaths before your plunge can increase your willpower, help decrease stress, and boost your mental focus.
Is it OK to shiver in an ice bath?
It is perfectly normal to shiver while you’re in the ice bath, and even afterward! Shivering is how your body naturally warms up. The rule of thumb is simply: once you start shivering a lot, it’s time to get out.
What not to do in an ice bath?
Please do not ice bath right before your workout, as the numbing can increase your risk of injury. Also, do not overdo it by staying in too long (we recommend around 5-10 minutes) and do not take a warm shower immediately after.
How long after an ice bath can I shower?
It’s best to not jump straight into a warm shower or bath afterward, as this might reduce the effects of the therapy and cause you to feel faint. It is recommended to wait two hours before taking a warm bath or shower.
How do you keep the water clean?
We care about your health! Our baths use a sophisticated filtration system after every session, including UV-filtration and Ozone injection to destroy germs without toxic chlorine byproducts. On top of that, we use Hydrogen Peroxide to oxidise anything left behind safely and quickly.
Is it bad to cold plunge after a workout?
If you are aiming to build muscle (hypertrophy), we recommend waiting at least 6 to 8 hours after your workout. Cold plunging right away can interrupt the natural inflammatory process that helps you build muscle and might diminish your gains.
